Builders Fighting Over Scraps
Where do I begin with this post! I wrote some time back about the seriousness of the current economical climate and how the recession is really hitting some smaller businesses quite hard. Well not much has changed 6 months down the line.
The building sector is now saturated with just about every Tom Dick and Harry, all trying to earn a crust to make a living. Some good and reputable builders and also a few non desirables trying their luck!
Here’s The Problem!!
There’s a price war on now and for many it is simply dog eat dog. Many builders are slashing prices at ridiculous or perhaps ‘pathetic’ rates just to keep working. I’m all for competition in building but at the moment it’s getting just plain stupid. These same builders under selling themselves are going bankrupt by the dozen…FACT!!!!!!!
Who’s to Blame?
Well quite simply British Industry was doing just fine before the bankers screwed it up for everybody. They were given a licence to kill and that is in my opinion exactly what they did to the economy. A total mis management of money by a so called professional institution that we were supposed to be able to trust.
So what do we do when it all goes wrong? How do we reward these bankers? Yeah you guessed it. We give them even more bonuses to reward them for all the screwing up they did in the first place.
Something seriously wrong here and it totally beggars belief!!
The government as you know had to bail these banking clowns out with the tax payers money, and I’m sure they will do all they can to recoup government losses.
The recent plan to raise the price of alcohol!!!!!
I really don’t believe for one minute that raising the price of alcohol is going to stop ‘binge drinking’
If people want to drink they will drink regardless and in whatever chosen quantity. This price hike will only affect the extremely poor or lower income people and even then, if they really want to go out and get slaughtered then they will just save up enough money until they can afford to do so, and ‘Binge Drink’
The government on the other hand will make a very tidy profit on the additional revenue raised in taxes through sales!!!!!!! Like I said, they gotta recoup some of that money back after bailing out ‘beloved’ banks.
Let’s hope 2010 will bring more cheer and less doom and gloom for the building sector this year.
OK, rant over! I’m calm and I’m collect
