Hi to all. Really feels strange writing this first post as adding blogging to my construction site here is all very new. So where do I start? Well I guess as good a place as any is at the beginning!

My name is Kirk Smith, from Liverpool, United Kingdom, and I’m the managing director of 4K Construction Limited. The company is a construction firm specializing in the domestic & commercial building sector.

Although, I oversee all of the jobs and contracts my company undertakes, I am still very much ‘on the tools’ and find myself working alongside my men on site on a regular basis.

My construction and trade background is plastering and I am a fully time served plasterer with many years of experience behind me working for some of the UK’s largest builders.

During my career I have inherited a wealth of experience in many other aspects of the building sector and now enjoy the challenge of running one of the Northwests finest building companies, 4K Construction Limited.

So Why Have I added This Blog To 4K?

Well, in a nutshell, I’d like to hear from anybody and everybody who wants to talk about building and even general DIY. I think and hope this blog will provide a great resource for people to share tips and tricks with each other and also act as a positive focal point for UK builders alike, to engage in some great conversation about the construction industry.

Homeowners are also welcome to raise any questions they may have and our team here will be glad to assist in any way we can. Perhaps you’re thinking of building an extension, or maybe you want to change the layout of an existing structure and need some help on structural aspects.

This blog is here to help and I hope you will use it as a reference point to be referred to at your convenience.

Well, it’s 11.50 PM here now and I need to prepare for another hectic day on site in the morning. I’ll sign off for now but will post here again shortly with some great info about construction & building.
